Junior Achievement's Purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Financial health is a lot like physical health. We grow stronger when we make it a priority and stay committed to a plan. All it takes is some knowledge and the right training. This is why Junior Achievement in Southeast Missouri started a virtual 4.01k financial fitness race.

Junior Achievement is a leader in bringing volunteer led programs into the classroom that promote financial literacy, inspire entrepreneurship, and prepare K-12 students for success in a 21st century workplace. These programs are always provided at no cost to the school.

Although school will not be in session for the rest of the year, JA has been working hard since mid-March to continue to get the message of financial literacy to students. We have been adapting and compiling our quality programs for parents and caregivers (who are now teachers) and classroom teachers to use with their students either virtually or as online accessible materials. JA will continue to work to provide these innovative methods as well as support the work of summer school and camps that plan to take place as we head into the next school year, when we hope to again provide our programs to students in a classroom setting. Prior to the schools shifting to at-home learning, JA in Southeast Missouri had already reached 2,300 students with in-school programs. Several classes had started their JA visits with volunteers, but were unable to complete the sessions due to the COVID-19 Virus. However, with the help of technology and innovation, we have been able to reach over 1,600 students with online resources and programs being used by their teachers and families. It is our goal to keep reaching students through summer school and other programs until school starts again in the fall. We need your support to continue to do so.

Today feels uncertain, but tomorrow represents hope and promise. JA wants our kids to spend more time planning for and dreaming about tomorrow and less time worrying about today. One way you can help is by supporting Junior Achievement in Southeast Missouri and participating in our 4.01k financial fitness run, walk, bike fundraiser. All proceeds will be used to provide Junior Achievement's programs to K-12 students in Southeast Missouri.
